2017 Sedgley Woods Golf Tag Challenge if off to a hot start with only 5 points separating the top 14 contenders after the first full month. The coveted #1 tag was passed around and there are 6 people with 40 max points going into February. J.J. Robinson won his first #1 tag and Matt Berry got his first ace in January. Todays 12:30 round kicks off points for February, who will keep their January streak alive?! Only 11 months to go! Don’t forget Thursday start time moves to 12:30 for the Month of February.
2017 Tags are still available. See Rome or Prue they are $20 and are good for 3 recorded rounds a week including monthly tournaments for the entire year. Proceeds to course maintenance and Sedgley stamped Golf Discs throughout the year. Consider getting involved and challenge our best players or just challenge yourself and the course. Our Tag league welcomes all players new and old. This is a great way to get involved with our members and to learn to play disc golf. Whatever you do… don’t be late.
The Aces were dropping at the January Monthly! Nick O aced 17 blue in the first round and then follows it up during the second round with an ace on the ant hill (#24) from the blue! Both aces were with the same Judge putter. How about that Harrison Treegoob who went -5 over the last 4 holes to win by 2 strokes! This included an ace on hole #22 with a comet right up the guts. Join Stu Straw, Rome and the Sedgley Woods Course Maintenance Committee on the scheduled second Saturday Volunteer workday February 11th. Sign in with Rome and look for the crew. Projects for February include cleaning & repairing any needed tees. Removing debris from the fairways. Course maintenance can be a thankless job so please consider getting out a little early and giving these guys a hand. Coffee and/or lunch is usually rewarded to our hard working helpers as a thank you from FSW.
The 2017 Mr. Disc Golf Tour will be making a stop at Sedgley for the Winter Fest in the Woods PDGA C-Tier Tournament on Sunday February 19th. Although the course won’t be closed to the public it will be extremely crowded for casual play so please plan your weekend accordingly. Registration is expected to fill Here.
We have a very special monthly this month if you haven’t heard… It’s only the annual Nice Bowl February monthly with charity food drive and a chili cook-off fundraiser event! This will be held on Saturday, February 25th. Please arrive in time to register by 9:45. More information can be found here.
