It’s time once again to eat, drink and be merry with another installment of Sedgley’s infamous Wine no Whine events. This time, with a twist – any donations received during this event will go toward helping to fund the first permanent course in … Israel!
Come out on Sunday, October 6th for a potluck afternoon and don’t forget to BYOW; leave the whine at home. There might even be some casual golf thrown in for good measure. Tags and doubles will be held as regularly scheduled. This is a loose, all day affair.
Click on the flyer below for a little more info about the event. For more info on the Israeli project, you can visit their indigogo page. And check out the pic of the men at work on a tee pad.

Late notice from a slacker webmaster…Milk the Goat is TOMORROW 9/21! 2 rounds from blue, if you finish, the legendary Paul “The Goat” Fein will personally pay you a (possibly not so crispy) $1 bill. With free entry, you can’t lose! 9AM registration, 10AM start. Come on out and milk the goat for all he’s worth!
Come see how much chain you can hit off the tee on a shortened layout for this summer’s Ace Race at Sedgley. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday August 3rd @ 2PM, after tags, and registration opens at 1PM. The $25 entry fee gets a player’s pack of two Ti plastic prototype discs, two reusable score cards and a bunch of other swag. With the chance for anyone to win more prizes and side bets, this is definitely worth the price of admission. Check out the Facebook event page, the Ace Race page, or email us for more info.
Unfortunately the Pawsome Doubles tournament had to be postponed. Please come out on the rain date, Sunday June 2nd, to show your support. See pawsomedoubles.com for more info.
Love Your Park, every day, but especially this Saturday, May 11th. This weekend kicks off Philly Parks & Rec’s annual Love Your Park Week, and on Saturday Sedgley will be holding an extra special clean-up day. There are lots of projects slated so please come out and lend a hand from 9am-1pm. Snacks will be provided for the volunteers.
PLEASE NOTE: Tags will start at 2pm.
Grab a partner and come on out to play a round in support of our furry, four legged friends. There will be CTPs, Ring of Fire, prizes and most importantly, tons of fun! All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Click on the flyer below for details, or check out pawsomedoubles.com for more info.
Check the Philly Open Results page for links to the PDGA site where the results were posted. Thanks to all that came out to play, help out, or show support!
Just a heads up to the ladies playing in the Monthlies, the Pro and Am divisions will now be paying a $7 entry fee. The Pros will be playing for cash, Ams for disc prizes. Starts this weekend March 30th.
Sedgley’s biggest tournament of the year, the Philly Open, will be taking place on April 6th & 7th. Due to the modified course layout and large turnout for the event, the course will be closed to the general public on both of these days. This is one of the very few times a year where the course is closed, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Its time to get yourself signed up to play in the Philly Open! Click here and scroll down the page to the Friends of Sedgley Woods section to find the registration details. This tournament WILL fill up, so you’ll need to pre-register online to get yourself a spot.
Please Note: All Open divisions and ONLY the Advanced Men (this does not include Advanced Masters, etc.) will be playing on Saturday April 6th. All remaining divisions will play Sunday April 7th.
Also note, for those not playing in the tournament, the course will be closed to the general public on both of these days.
Good luck and have fun!
