Three times a week the Friends of Sedgley Woods play organized rounds known as Tags. At the start of the round everyone puts in their numbered “bag tag” and play groups are created based on the tags players come in with. At the end of the round, the player with the best score gets the lowest tag and on up through the rest of the field.

2023 Has a new scoring format for tags. Information is below

THURSDAYS

5 Hours before sunset (12pm during Daylight savings)

Doubles follows tags Thursdays 2 Hours before sunset.

SATURDAY

11 am (except 1pm on 2nd Saturday Workdays and 10am Monthlies)

Sunday

11 am (except 10am Montlies)

All Scoring Is done through the UDisc App

Tags can be purchased from a number of the regulars at the course (just ask around). They cost $20 a year and all proceeds go straight back to improving the course, so they are a great way to give back to Sedgley Woods and get yourself a memento for the year. Even if you don’t think you will play tags regularly (or ever), you should consider buying one to support the club that makes disc golfing in Philly possible.

Each tag event’s field encompasses players of all levels, and you get to play with people of skill level similar to yours, so everyone is encouraged to join in. There is truly no better way to improve your game than these free weekly rounds.

2024 Scoring Format

Tags will be divided into 4 sessions, 3 months in length.

  • Winter 2023: January - March

  • Spring 2023: April - June

  • Summer 2023: July - September

  • Fall 2023: October - December

Tag order for Winter 2024 will be determined by the 2024 Final Standing. Players placing in the Top 50 in2023 will retain their tag in the Winter Session. New players and players ranked 51 and above will be included in the tag ranking beginning with Tag 51. Tag order for Spring 2024 will be determined by the Winter 2024 final standings. Tag order for Summer 2024 will be determined by the Spring 2024 final standings. Tag order for Fall 2024 will be determined by the Summer 2024 final standings. Tag standings during a session will be determined by total points earned. Final tag standing will be determined by total points earned during all four sessions.

Event Scoring

  • 50 points for victory.

  • *30 points for second place.

  • *20 points for third place.

  • *1 point for completing event

  • 1 point for every player tied or beat.

Monthly Event Scoring:

  • 100 points for event victory.

  • **60 points for second place.

  • **40 points for third place.

  • **2 point for completing event. 2 point for every player tied or beat.Note: For all events DNFs will not receive points.

* In the event of ties in first thru third place, points will be divided equally among players with same score.(For example: Three players tying for first would receive 33.33 points each in a regular event.)

** In the event of ties in first thru third place, points will be divided equally among players with same score.

** Playoffs will not effect the points earned during the monthly.

Tag Order

The tag order will be determined in the following way.Low score earns the lowest tag played. Lower tag goes to player coming in with lower tag in case of ties.

Score

All players will have their score recorded for all rounds played.
